Our pupils had fun looking for a treasure during Racial Harmony Day. Each class was given 5 clues and the pupils had to figure out where part of the treasure was kept. Upon finding all parts, they had to piece them together to reveal the treasure.

To celebrate National Day, our pupils made an educational trip to the National Museum of Singapore on 06 August 2010. They toured the History and Living Galleries and learnt about how life was like in the past. Some of our pupils even had the opportunities to dress as samsui women / coolies and have a taste of their lives. The journey into history ended with colouring and ‘kueh making’ activities.

7. Racial Harmony Day Celebration - Blk 915
| |
|
|
| |
Our pupils celebrated Racial Harmony Day on Friday, 23 July 2010. Our activities on that day were writing Chinese Calligraphy and Malay Calligraphy or “Jawi”. Chen Lao Shi conducted the Chinese Calligraphy activity with the K2 pupils while Malay Calligraphy was conducted by Teacher Nadia with the Nursery and K1 Pupils by teaching them to write their own names in “Jawi”. As Malay Calligraphy was something new to them, all of them were amazed by the way it was written.
On that day, the children and teachers came to school in traditional costumes of different races and at the end of the session, they sang and danced to the songs of four different languages (English, Malay, Chinese and Tamil). |

8. National Day Celebration - Blk 915
| |
|
|
| |
Our National Day celebration was on the 6th of August 2010, Friday. We conducted an activity with the objective, “Teamwork”. The children did finger printing on the big Singapore flag using ‘mahjong’ paper. The red part of the flag was divided into 4 parts. 2 parts were done by the morning session and the other 2 parts by the afternoon session. At the end of each session, the teachers talked about how important teamwork is by using the flag that they have done as an example. That is how they can work together as a team to build Singapore as a strong nation!
During assembly, the pupils sang the National Anthem and said the pledge. They also sang the National Day songs with joy, together with some simple dance steps that they had been practising before the celebration.
